We welcome Chris Speakman as new Operations Director for Wigan
Interact is delighted to welcome Chris Speakman in the role of Operations Director at our Wigan contact centre. Chris brings a wealth of experience in sales management having spent the last 2 years as BT’s Head of Enterprise Sales, following over 15 years in Corporate Finance Sales with Barclays and Bank of Scotland.
Taking on the role in August, Chris’ priorities have included strengthening the management team and supporting them in acquiring new skills. His enthusiasm for sales and championing teams to achieve their own goals (as well as those of the business) is working well for the team.
Chris himself describes the family culture of Interact and the commitment of the staff as what attracted him to the company; and the natural next step for him in his career. His big challenge is continuing to build the business whilst maintaining that family environment ethos. These are the foundations tha,t have made Interact the successful business it is today.
The key to this, says Chris, is “coherent, calm and considered communication, so the team maintains a clear direction. This helps manage, and ultimately achieve, client expectations.” He emphasises that with a team that are open to challenges, take ownership and are full of enthusiasm for the business to succeed, only good things will grow.
By up-skilling the Wigan management team, Chris is ensuring they have the foundation to develop their agents. “A manager’s key responsibility,” says Chris, “is to make Interact a brilliant place to work, motivate and challenge their agents to give them the best 8 hours they can each and every day.”
So far under Chris’ guidance the team have hit every daily sales target increase. Congratulations to Chris and the Wigan team, onwards and upwards – we look forward to what the next 6 months will bring.
